What is the Cold Kinyoun Stain Kit (Methylene Blue Counterstain): This stain kit is used for the staining of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis and other acid fast organisms in tissue sections and smears. The walls of Mycobacteria are not readily penetrated so phenol is mixed with the basic fuchsin to overcome this. No heat is required for this method.
